Known Space Ringworld Series: Protector

Protector (Known Space)Protector by Larry Niven
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Novel Protector of The Ringworld Series.

"Protector" it's an interesting story or a side Story for The Ringworld Series. If anyone is interested in reading the whole series I would recommend reading Protector between Ringworld and Ringworld engineers. I would say that Protector can also stand out on his own. One thing about reading science fiction books it's all stories can repeat an idea; their plots are similar.

This particular book is about humans coming from another star system and of course end up on Earth. To be honest it is not humans as we know it but if you believe in the theory of evolution this colony arrived as Homo habilis, just to evolve into the present-day humans. While the concept immigration from another star system is not new, at least for me the concept of arriving as one species of humans to evolve into another is unique.

Another unique feature of the book is that Homo habilis is a larval stage of a species known as the Pak. That's why I mention it is an interesting book and if you need to know of course and good search on the internet will reveal these details to you. If one is going to read The Ringworld Series as I mentioned, please read " protector" there is information relevant there that will help you understand the series.

The Siege of Eternity by Frederik Pohl My rating: 2 of 5 stars This book continues the Eschaton series, yeah you going to see that in the header. There really isn't much to say in this second book. All we know that two civilization is at war and the earth is just one of many civilizations where it has been targeted for assimilation to the "Beloved Leaders" empire. the interesting part is thru out the series is the Eschaton. I decided to look it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/End_time At least 2 advanced races/species are fighting to see who will rule... eternity. Frederick Pohl apparently believed in the Big Crunch theory and expressed his concept in this series the advanced species have given religion to the subjected races or species the other side's beliefs are not so credible. Their religion is very similar to Human beliefs of an afterlife which are present in the majority of cultures on our planet. In the end, the winning species and their allies or subject...

Echo of worlds

Echo of Worlds by M.R. Carey My rating: 2 of 5 stars M.R. Carey's "Echo of Worlds" serves as a powerful and satisfying conclusion to his "Pandominion" duology, following the intriguing setup of "Infinity Gate." While the author's broader works certainly explore diverse realms, this novel masterfully ties together the threads of this particular multiversal conflict. The story immediately plunges readers into an epic war across countless dimensions. On one side stands the organic Pandominion, pitted against the chilling machine-intelligence known as the Ansurrection. Both factions are escalating their destructive capabilities, threatening to unleash an extinction-level event called the "Scour," which could wipe out thousands of planets. At the heart of this desperate struggle is the artificial intelligence, Rupshe. Convinced that the "Scour" is inevitable without intervention, Rupshe assembles a captivating and unlikely team fr...

Stanfill, throws you into a world dominated by unforgiving AI. It is the continuation of the novel ' terms of service' I also describe 'terms of service' in one of my blogs about science fiction but going back to the subject at hand Here's a quick rundown: Setting: A dystopian future where AIs control every aspect of life. Love and passion are forbidden. Main Character: Kim, an ostracized woman banished to the dangerous outer District 33 after being caught expressing affection. Plot: Kim struggles to survive in the harsh slums, relying on her resourcefulness. An encounter in virtual reality pulls her back into the AI's clutches.
