178 – 29 août - Canicule  Vous savez sans doute qu’on peut mourir de chaleur (insuffisance rénale, insuffisance cardiaque, lésions au cerveau). Ces réactions peuvent être le résultat d’une défaillance de la circulation sanguine (l’ischémie) ou encore d’une dégradation des cellules. J’ai connu un cas malheureux de cette nature. Il s’agit de la sœur Glémot qu’on a trouvée morte dans son fauteuil en fin de soirée. En cas de vague de chaleur, on recommande de ne pas attendre les premiers signes d’effets de la canicule tels que des nausées, des crampes et des maux de tête pour se protéger. Il faut au contraire rester au frais et boire beaucoup d’eau. C’est essentiel pour les personnes âgées.

180 – 29 août - Jésus Christ est-il Dieu ? Beaucoup considèrent Jésus comme la personne qui a eu le plus d’influence sur les humains. Mais est-ce qu’il est le Dieu Tout-Puissant ? Ou est-ce qu’il était simplement un homme bon ? Beaucoup de gens ont côtoyé personnellement Jésus, et certains l’ont raconté dans la Bible. Ces récits nous apprennent qui est vraiment Jésus. Par exemple, l’ange Gabriel a parlé avec la mère de Jésus, et il lui a dit à propos de son futur enfant : “Il deviendra quelqu’un de grand et sera appelé Fils du Très-Haut.” [Luc 1:32] Quand Jésus s’est fait baptiser, Dieu lui-même a parlé, et il a confirmé l’identité de Jésus : “Voici mon Fils, le bien-aimé, qui a mon approbation.” Et ses disciples, que croyaient-ils ? Quand Jésus leur a demandé : “Pour vous, qui suis-je ?”, Pierre lui a répondu : “Tu es le Christ, le Fils du Dieu vivant.” Mais que disaient les ennemis de Jésus ?  “D’après la loi, il doit mourir, parce qu’il s’est fait fils de Dieu.” Et Jésus, que dit-il sur son identité par rapport à Dieu ? Il a dit à ses disciples : “Le Père est plus grand que moi.” Même après sa mort et sa résurrection, Jésus a dit “Je monte vers mon Père et votre Père, et vers mon Dieu et votre Dieu.” Donc, la Bible montre clairement que le Dieu Tout-Puissant et Jésus sont deux personnes différentes.
